2-26-11 REVOLUTION IN LIBYA RJ MacDonald
News sources report that the US is evacuating it's embassy in Libya on the basis of the continuing violence in the city of Tripoli but that diplomatic relations are to be maintained in any case and so there will be no break in relations with Libya.
The situation is very sensitive for the USA in that Libya's oil is the highest source in Africa and is of a very high quality, needing minimal refinement prior to use. This does not want to be lost and so the strategic move is very likely based on not wanting to provide a reason to counteract and isolate Libya on the basis of the jeopardy or harm that that country might cause to US citizens residing there, especially were those US citizens to be high profile in status. So, in order to avoid trouble, remove the basis of the possible trouble and maintain a "diplomatic" position such that access to those high level and abundant energy reserves is maintained.
After 4,200 Chinese nationals had left Libya on Thursday another 2,900 had departed from Benghazi, Libya on Friday to then later arrived on Crete on Saturday. This evacuation from Libya is a rescue operation which is a cooperative effort on the part of China and Greece in respect to the recent events of political turmoil in Libya. Reportedly 13 citizens of other nationalities were taken with the group on Friday. This situation if paralleled to a degree by the American evacuation that has also taken place on Friday. It has been reported that 6,000 Chinese workers are to be transported from Libya in total. Food, water and shelter are being provided for the Chinese evacuees by the Greeks until subsequent flights from China to Greece to pick up those rescued and take them back to China is achieved - projectively on Saturday the 26th.
A committee of experts is reportedly on the verge of declaring a new government but are still waiting for events in Tripoli to unfold. They may be part of the opposition which has defeated by virtue of their numbers the government forces of Gaddafi. Atrocities have been reported to have occurred in respect to government soldiers who were disobedient in respect to refusing to oppose anti-government forces. Thirteen charred bodies have been evidenced as well as additional reports of 67 bodies stated to be in a military compound. Five hundred are said to have been killed and 1,900 injured but anti-government groups nonetheless are now in control of the city of Benghazi. Their success is apparently due to their numbers although mainly unarmed.
There is obviously good reason for the evacuations that are presently occurring in Libya as the reports that are emerging are suggestive of the seriously entrenched position that the Libyan Oligarchic autocracy is taking. What this could unfortunately lead to is an all-out civil war and one that could go on for an "extended" period unless outside forces such as the UN or NATO were to become employed therein.

The US threat on Iran
- "We will not allow US to dominate Iran: Khamenei" - AFP
- comment re above article: What is probably behind the US threat on Iran is a complex of corporate interests with military-industrial and extensively energy profits in mind on the one hand and US Israeli lobbyists on the other hand. And these two groups are not necessarily separate as both groups are therein driven, no doubt, by either coveting Iran's natural energy resources the combined integrity of which (the combination of both oil and gas) are probably second to none or of significantly depreciating the power and significance that that nation has in the region by virtue of changing it's political fabric so as to create another client state or at least one that facilitates western corporate interests. Saudi Arabia and possibly Iraq may have more oil than Iran but Iran is probably superior to both in consideration of the composite whole of energy resources, that is including both natural gas and oil. That as a potential western controlled market commodity may be very highly desirable to the UK, US and possibly to the Netherlands. And of course in the broader sense there is the issue of the international political and ultimate hegemony that Israel, The UK and NATO in general are very interested in for the purposes of ultimately dominating and controlling the entire globe and thereby assuring that western business and markets are maximized. Certainly with the threat of energy resources as depleting and demand soon exceeding supply or production-supply, regardless of the truth or falsity of that claim, global corporate interests are cognizant of the associated rise in energy prices and thus the associated profits and this is certainly true in respect to growing, expanding, developing economies of India and China with their first and second highest populations. The west's somewhat dubious or uncertain status with India is one aspect of concern in what may be sitting on the horizon as an international resource war but a far more significant concern, no doubt, would be the Chinese-Russian-Iranian alliance. Russia and Iran are number one and number two respectively in natural gas resource supplies. What this may all equate to is considerable pressure or even threat on Obama from his corporate sponsors to realign the leverage significantly more in the West's favor. Considering the stakes that lie ahead there is reason to believe that some of those in positions of corporate and governmental power who are controlling the political levers may be affected by some type of combination or complex of psychopathology, ignorance and moral depravity in as much as they seem to be willing to sacrifice human life and well-being on a massive scale. On a global scale greater and greater numbers are becoming aware of the false disguises of “freedom,” “terrorism,” “nuclear aggression” as being nothing more than masks for blatant imperial aggression and a renewed agenda of colonization, especially in respect to those countries that have an abundance of energy resources.
